About Glengoyne - 2007 - 16 Year Old - Scottish Merchants Choice - Single Malt Scotch Whisky - Single Cask# 971

Exclusively selected by six highly regarded Scottish Whisky Merchants.

Samples had been drawn from six casks, hand selected by Distillery manager Robbie Hughes from the traditional dunnage warehouse at Glengoyne Distillery.

The merchants agreed that Cask#971 was their favourite, there are only 207 bottles evenly split between the six businesses.

Glengoyne is one of the few distilleries that uses absolutely no peat to dry their malted barley, instead simply using air. They also have the slowest distillation process, resulting in a beautifully smooth and easy-drinking whisky.

Tasting Notes :

Colour: Rich Mahogany

Nose : Sticy toffee pudding, honeycomb, ripe banana anda hint of spice.
and a hint of spice

Palate : Expect a mouthful of warming spice alongside sweet prunes, dates and a hint of ristretto coffee.
