About Lochlea "Our Barley" Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Introducing Lochlea Our Barley, the distilleries first core Single malt whisky

Matured in first-fill Bourbon barrels, Oloroso Sherry casks and STR barriques, Lochlea 'Our Barley' sits at 46% ABV and is non chill-filtered with no added colouring.


Carefully honed by Production Director John Campbell, Our Barley will sit alongside the seasonal limited releases.

Nose: Our Barley opens up with an initial burst of Pear syrup and fruit bon bons, followed but hints of cinnamon, gentle cardamom and black pepper. It then moves into warm cut grass and straw notes and finishes with a dash of fresh zesty marmalade.

 

Palate: Grassy notes first and golden syrup then huge peppery notes and rye bread. It then shifts to macadamia nuts and cream soda.

 

Finish: Medium length with a lovely lasting orange beeswax note on the palate.
