MacNair's Lum Reek Peated 10 Year Old Cask Strength Blended Malt Scotch Whisky - Batch 1

This blended malt heralds from GlenAllachie Distillery and is another triumph created by Billy Walker.

Billy has sourced the finest vintage Islay, Highland and Speyside Single Malts, then blended with aged GlenAllachie, in pursuit of the perfect balance between peat and rich, fruity character.

The spirit was then laid to rest in premium Spanish sherry casks, wine barriques and virgin oak casks. As time passes, the flavours marry and extract additional characteristics from the wood. Batch 1 of the 10-year-old is bottled at natural cask strength of 55.4% ABV, with no colour added and non chill filtered for maximum flavour.

The name is inspired by Victorian distiller Harvey MacNair,also linked to a Hogmoay toast " Long may your lum reek!" meaning Long may your chimney smoke!

 

 

Colour: Rich Bronze


Nose: Waves of smoke, heather honey and ginger, fusing with cinnamon, treacle and vanilla.


Taste: Lashings of dark chocolate, ginger and citrus, with smoked spices, plantains and tannins.
