Glasgow 1770 Calvados Cask Finish (Unpeated) Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The contents of a single cask, this six year old release from The Glasgow Distillery showcases their first use of French Apple Brandy Casks combined with their unpeated double distilled whisky. Initially matured in a first fill ex-bourbon cask, this release has been finished for two years and five months in a Calvados barrel to gain notes of fresh green apples, poached pears, baked apple pie, and a long-lasting nutmeg spice.
Nose: Fresh green apples and poached pear on the nose complemented by vibrant vanilla and citrus, with hints of baking spices and dark fruits.
Palate: The palate is packed with freshly sliced apple, tropical fruit, hints of kiwi, vanilla custard, stone fruits and a slight oak spice.
Finish: The finish is long and satisfying with notes of caramel and baked apple pie with a dusting of nutmeg.
