About Glasgow 1770 Tequila Cask Finish (Triple Distilled) Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The contents of a single cask, this four year old release from The Glasgow Distillery showcases their delicate and floral triple distilled whisky that has initially been matured in first fill ex-bourbon, before a finishing period of two and half years in a Tequila barrel.

Bottled at 55.3% ABV and with only 272 bottles made, this a limited-edition release with notes of rich honey, lemon and lime citrus, honeydew melon, and milk chocolate.

This is the second release from The Glasgow Distillery that makes use of a Tequila finishing cask, but it is the first time that the distillery has used their tripled distilled unpeated single malt within this cask. Their first Tequila finished release was the popular Batch 01 of their unpeated double distilled single malt, the use of triple distilled this time brings a fresher and more citrus-led characteristic to the bottling. The distillery’s triple distilled single malt naturally boasts delicate and floral citrus notes, these are amplified and extended by the combination of the spirit and the Tequila influence.

Nose: On the nose expect notes of rich honey, lemon and lime citrus, hints of vanilla and soft floral undertones.

Palate: The palate explodes with fresh tropical fruits; pineapple, white grapefruit, and fresh honeydew melon balanced against vanilla, creamy maltiness and hints of lemongrass.

Finish: The finish is long and pronounced with delicate notes of fresh coconut, milk chocolate and a subtle white pepper spice.
