About Inverdarach 'Groundbreaker Edition' GlenAllachie 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Ardgowan distillery construction started at Bankfoot Farm, Inverkip on October 23rd, 2023 and we wish to mark this monumental date with something special to recognise the tremendous interest and support we have received on our exciting journey so far. We are making a very limited release available to both trade customers and whisky consumers who have supported the company from our first day.

We are delighted that  Master Blender, Max McFarlane, had to look no further than this GlenAllachie cask #900416 distilled in 2008; a rich luscious spirit, left to slumber in sherry casks from birth until the perfect balance of wood influence and spirit has been achieved. Max’s initial response on tasting was “a must have, so smooth and luxurious it can be bottled at cask strength”, sums it up perfectly and this 100% sherry matured Single Malt is the perfect forerunner of what lies ahead with Ardgowan Single Malt.

Bottled at cask strength of 56.4% this very limited release of only 414 bottles is initially available on pre-release basis only, and with international shipping exclusively from Robbie’s Whisky Merchants.

 

Nose: Well aged, rich, candied apple, stewed plums, chocolate brownies, sugared almonds 

Palate: Stunning, beautifully balanced, heathery, pipe tobacco, very ripe cherries 

Finish: Long, complex, smooth entrance with dried fruit and chocolate
