About Inverdarach Pot Still Edition - Caol Ila 9 Year Old Refill Hogshead Single Malt Scotch Whisky

From the Gaelic meaning ‘where waters meet’ and ‘oak’, the Inverdarach brand represents a promise to find and bottle the best whiskies, which all begin with water and wood.

The final whisky in this inaugural release is a 9 year old Caol Ila, from a single refill hogshead, bottled at 56.1% ABV.

Distilled: September 2012

Bottled: February 2022

Outturn: 186 bottles

Nose: A brilliantly beachy nose - salty, with pineapple chunks as well as a whack of wood smoke and whisky laden oak. 

Palate: Starts delightfully peaty, then moves into warming liquorice, toasted charcoals and a touch of pipe tobacco. 

Finish: Long and zingy, lighting the whole mouth up with the head of chilli peppers.
