This whisky was distilled in April 1996 and bottled in September 2014 having spent its maturation period in a refill butt. One of only 829 bottles.
The nose is bursting with macerated fruit, wisps of dark chocolate as well as ripe plums. Slight undertone of soft leather.
The palate is complex with an oaky character as well as a christmas cake/boozy rasin type of flavour. Rich spices and berries confirm that is is a striongly sherried whisky. The finish is long and spicy with dark fruits and darker chocolate.
