Glen Scotia 10 Year Old Bordeaux Red Wine Finish - Limited Edition - Campbeltown Malts Festival 2021 - Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Sadly this this year's Campbeltown Malts Festival held annually in May has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak, with this in mind we are working with the Distillery to help distribute this excellent dram to all you Glen Scotia aficionados.
This Limited Edition Campbeltown Single Malt Whisky has been specially created to celebrate the 2021 Campbeltown Malt Festival.
Using a series of exclusively unpeated distillations from 2009 - 2011, the 2021 release was matured in first fill bourbon barrels ensuring a spirit that truly reflects the Glen Scotia Distillery Character. These casks have been vatted together before finishing in first fill Bordeaux red wine casks, from the Medoc region, for a period of 5 months under the watchful eye of Master Blender, Michael Henry. Once the perfect balance is achieved between the red fruits from the wine casks and the classic fruit, spice and maritime notes of the Glen Scotia spirit was reached, the spirt was then married into refill bourbon barrels before bottling at cask strength, 56.1% ABV.
Nose : Crushed red berries, floral notes of rose and violet with heather honey and maritime breeze.
Palate : Opens on a honeyed sweetness with vibrant strawberry and apple, lime citrus and toasted oak vanilla.
Finish : Long with warming spice of cinnamon and aniseed.
