This is this third release of Machrie Moor Peated Arran at cask strength 58.5%. A peating level of 20 PPM with only 9,000 bottles available worldwide.
Nose: Fresh fruit with a background of peat
and a puff of smoke immediately apparent
Palate: A robust dram with the typical orchard
fruits of Arran coming to the fore over a layer
of toasted brioche and red berries
Finish: Long lasting, creamy vanilla notes
from the Bourbon cask. A memorable dram
with character and complexity.
Due to the fact I have not yet had the chance to sample this dram the tasting notes are courtesy of the Distillery.
