You are now browsing - Scotch Whisky - Single Cask
A Single Cask bottling of whisky means that the whisky has been bottled from an individually aging cask. This makes Single Cask bottlings more unique than standard bottlings as there can only ever be an absolute maximum of 1000 bottles drawn from one cask. Standard bottlings such as a distillery bottling 10 year old are often vatted with other 10 year old casks or with older whiskies to maintain a consistency in colour and flavour. Single Cask bottlings by their very nature cannot do this and are therefore very different from their equivalent distillery bottling.
Single Cask bottlings are most commonly sold by Independent bottlers which offers the consumer the chance to sample a unique expression of more household whiskies.
