Glenfarclas has been in the hands of the Grant family since 1865, having opened in 1836. A very impressive heritage!
Their notes for this expression inform us of a complex, yet refined and delicately peated nose with fresh, tempting aromas of marmalade, honey, freshly ground coffee, sherry and nuts moving on to a full-bodied and robust palate, with the sherry and oak fighting for your attention. All the while there is a powerful nutty smokiness too. The finish is intense, long lasting, dry, smoky and malty. A beautiful dark Belgium chocolate taste at the back of your mouth.
This excellent dram has been awarded the Silver Medal at our Whisky An'A'That 2015 Festival.
Congratulations to the Glenfarclas team.
