About Caol Ila Moch Single Malt Scotch Whisky
The Gaelic speakers among us will translate "Moch" to "Dawn", foreshadowing the flavour of this whisky as a lighter version of the usual Caol Ila expressions. The focus that Diageo put on this whisky was aimed at its flavour rather than age or cask-type.
The nose offers a lot of citrus with a fainter waft of smoke than expected. Some sweeter tones such as honey and sweet tea are also prsent. The palate is fresh, with salty sea-air and a burst of sweet and sour flavour comes in the form of sherbet lemons before the the mightly Caol Ila peat makes a grand appearance. Great stuff.
