About Lochlea Single Cask Exclusively Bottled For RWM Release 1 & Lochlea "Our Barley" Single Malt Scotch Whisky

A Brace of Lochlea !

We are delighted and honoured to introduce the first Lochlea Single Cask exclusively bottled for Robbie's Whisky Merchants.

The whisky was chosen by our owner Robin in June, then left in cask until it reached four years old in October 2022.

This very rare and much sought after bottle is being sold in conjunction with a bottle of Lochlea Our Barley - Only available at Robbie's Whisky Merchants in store and online.

Bottled from one single ex- bourbon barrel.

Non- Chill Filtered and Natural Colour.

Bottled at a mighty 60.4% alc./vol.

Tasting Notes:

Opens up with vanilla essence, juicy pear drops and crisp red apple.

Then moves into floral rose water and raspberry sherbet.

Finishes with a hint of straw and signature Lochlea cereal notes.

 

Lochlea Our Barley

Matured in first-fill Bourbon barrels, Oloroso Sherry casks and STR barriques, Lochlea 'Our Barley' sits at 46% ABV and is non chill-filtered with no added colouring.

Nose: Our Barley opens up with an initial burst of Pear syrup and fruit bon bons, followed but hints of cinnamon, gentle cardamom and black pepper. It then moves into warm cut grass and straw notes and finishes with a dash of fresh zesty marmalade.

 

Palate: Grassy notes first and golden syrup then huge peppery notes and rye bread. It then shifts to macadamia nuts and cream soda.

 

Finish: Medium length with a lovely lasting orange beeswax note on the palate.
