Balvenie Tun 1509 - Batch 8 - Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Introducing the eighth and final Balvenie Tun 1509 release which is a no aged statement whisky with a 52.2% abv and non-chill-filtered.

Containing  a marriage of some of The Balvenie's rarest and most precious and traditional casks hand selected by David Stewart MBE, whisky from each cask is married together in Tun 1509 to create a unique and unrepeatable batch.

This particular Tun is a marriage of 18 casks.

4 ex-American Bourbon barrels.

What is Tun 1509?

•A large oak marrying vessel which sits proudly in The Balvenie distillery’s Warehouse 24.

Tasting Notes

Nose : Sweet flavours from baked citrus tarts entwine with aromas of orange marmalade and maple syrup.This subtle zing is perfectly wrapped in a sweet nuttiness and overflowing spices. Rich and deep, lots of exotic and elegant oak notes, followed by sweeter aromas of dried fruits raisins and dates, then a spicy outburst of ground ginger and some melted brown sugar.

Taste: An unmistakable texture flows over the palate, rich, toffee sweetness, buttery vanilla and a swirl of house honey form the perfect sip. The initial sweetness from the perfectly toasted oak, dispels to reveal layers of candied ginger, a hint of cardamom and ground spices.

Finish: Oaky and everlasting.
