Crabbie 50 Year Old - Single Malt Scotch Whisky - Bunnahabhain Cask# 11562.,
John Crabbie and Company ceased trading during the 1970s, originally the Crabbie whisky story started in 1801 where the Crabbie family ran a booming wine and spirit business importing and exporting all over the world. John Crabbie was a true whisky innovator involved in the creation of one of Scotland's most iconic grain distilleries.
This Bunnahabhain was aged in a refill sherry hogshead chosen for its complex sweet savoury balance. An example of an extremely rare single cask with a turn out of only 220 hand filled 50cl decanters.
Each of the individually numbered Glencairn crystal decanters have been hand blown meaning they are as unique as the whisky they contain.
The decanter is presented in an elegant display box, handcrafted from solid ash by Moran's of Warrington and accompanied by an individually numbered certificate of authenticity.
Nose: Ripe apricots, dates, candied orange peel with autumnal spices. Sweet toffee and strawberry linger on the nose.
Palate: Smooth, buttery mouthfeel with decadent syrup sponge, beautifully warming with notes of salted nut brittle, toffee, creme anglaise all wrapped together with gentle wisps of oak smoke.
Finish: Orange and lemon marmalade, candied ginger, subtle nuttiness with a long well developed finish that only time can create.
