This is the sixth annual Loch Gorm Single Malt to be released by Kilchoman. Each release is differentiated by the distillation and bottling dates on the front of the bottle and gift carton.
Kilchoman’s Loch Gorm releases are traditionally matured in ex Oloroso sherry casks and this latest edition is no exception. This edition is a seven year old.
Loch Gorm releases have been evolving over the years and this, the 2017 edition, is the oldest yet. This extra maturation has afforded it a full-bodied richness which combines with the peat smoke and fruity flavours typical of Kilchoman to create a truly unique Islay single malt.
Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder and Managing Director; “Loch Gorm is undoubtedly assertive however in the midst of its distinctive peat smoke and sherry character it retains a certain finesse and subtlety.”
This range is named after a famously peaty loch over looked by the distillery; Kilchoman draws water for the production of Loch Gorm and their other releases from the burn that runs into the loch.
