Svensk Ek is the only whisky in the world that is aged in oak that should have been used to build ships for the Swedish Royal Navy. The trees that provided the oak were planted in the 19th century on an Island called Visingsö and the forest is now one of the biggest oak woods in Sweden.
Nose: Fruity with citrus, pear, apple and honey. A light oakiness with sweet, lightly toasted bread notes and fresh butter toffee.
Palate: Svensk ek has a spicy character giving notes of sandalwood, dried ginger, black pepper, roasted oak barrel and herbs. Fruity and smooth with citrus, caramel and honey. A light oakiness can be discerned at the end.
