Glencadam 17 year old Portwood Triple Cask.
Created by the careful selection of three hogshead casks, the malt whisky was transferred from Bourbon casks into the hand-picked Portwood casks to “finish” the maturation for a number of years.
Nose: Toffee and plum sweetness is softly swathed in vanilla and sumptuous malt.
Flavour: Lush sweet malt, plums and prunes swirl as one with summer fruits, vanilla and toffee.
Finish: Abundantly port-sweetness yields to a spicy finale.
The Glencadam distillery is nestled between the home of the local football club, Brechin and a municipal cemetery! Thankfully the whisky is just as interesting as the distillery's location.
