Another of the diageo work horses, Auchroisk was originally established by Justerini & Brooks (J&B) in 1974 in order to produce blending whisky however due to the high quality of the first year's production, it was actually released eventually as a 12 year old single malt called "Singleton". This name was abandoned in 2001 when Auchroisk was favoured and holds its place in the Flora and Fauna range.
Interestingly, this distillery is actually a back-up for the production of Gordon's gin should anything untoward occur at the Cameronbridge grain distillery which is also owned by Diageo.
Speyside - 70cl / 43%
This is the only official and constant bottling that Auchroisk offer. A very pleasing whisky. The nose is fairly light and nutty moving on to a soft palate that is gentle and quite sweet. It's a really easy to drink, summery whisky.
