Aberfeldy

Established in 1896 by John and Tommy Dewar in the Eastern Highlands, the Aberfeldy distillery was originally intended to produce a single malt for Dewar's blended whisky - White Label

Production started in 1898 followed by a brief closure from 1917-1919. In 1925 the Distillers Company Limited (DLC) took over.

Reconstruction of the distillery commenced in 1972 with the floor maltings being closed and the addition of two new stills bringing the total to four.

The first offical bottling of Aberfeldy was a 15 year old released in the Flora & Fauna series in 1991.

Bacardi purchased the distillery in 1998 from Diageo at the incredible price of £1150 million.
